38 Years of Grace: Celebrating My Baptism Anniversary

Today, I celebrate the 38th anniversary of my baptism. It is a day of reflection and gratitude, a day to remember the moment when I made a public declaration of my faith. I am reminded of the words of the apostle Paul, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV). In Him, I am a new creation, washed clean by His blood, and filled with His Spirit.

As I celebrate this anniversary, I am reminded of the words of the psalmist, “I will sing of your love and justice; to you, Lord, I will sing praise” (Psalm 101:1, NIV). Today, I sing praises to the One who has saved me, the One who has redeemed me, the One who has given me new life. I am grateful for His grace, His mercy, and His love, which have sustained me throughout these 38 years.

In baptism’s light,
Renewed by His grace and love,
Eternal promise.

As I commemorate 38 years since my baptism, I am reminded of God’s faithfulness and grace that have sustained me on this journey of faith. May His love continue to guide me, and may I always walk in the light of His presence.

Orchids of Sadness – Part 2

As I linger in this garden of despair,
I notice a shift, a subtle change,
a ray of sunlight piercing through the gloom,
illuminating the orchids with a gentle warmth.

New buds appear, timid yet resilient,
their colors vibrant against the backdrop of sorrow.
These are not blooms of pain, but of hope,
each petal a whisper of promise, each stem a testament to strength.

I nurture them, these fragile new blossoms,
with tender care and newfound faith.
The waters of anxiety begin to recede,
replaced by streams of grace and renewal.

The thorns still prick, but they no longer wound,
for I’ve learned to handle them with wisdom.
I see beyond the pain, to the beauty that lies within,
and I understand that both joy and sorrow are intertwined in the garden of my heart.

As the orchids of sadness slowly fade,
their petals falling like memories,
new flowers take their place,
symbols of resilience, of hope, of healing.

In this ever-changing garden,
I find solace, a quiet strength.
For I know that even in the darkest moments,
there is the potential for light, for growth, for peace.

Identity in Christ

I seek my true identity,
Reflecting on my journey,
I see glimpses of who I am not.

In the Lord’s presence,
I find my true self revealed,
Clothed in His love.

In His grace, I see,
The image of who I am,
Not defined by flaws.

In Christ, I am found,
Lost in His perfect love,
I am who I am.

Clothed in His righteousness,
I am who He says I am,
A child of the King.

Perseverance in Pain

In pain,
I labor on,
Tears mingling with sweat,
But in my trials, I find strength,
Through faith.

Through faith,
I persevere,
Knowing His grace is near,
In pain and tears, His love sustains,
Renews.

Renews
My weary soul,
In His arms, I find peace,
Guiding me through the darkest night,
His light.

His light
Shines brightly,
In my darkest hour,
With each step, He walks beside me,
My rock.

My rock,
In times of need,
In pain and tears, I cling,
His promises my guiding light,
My strength.

Quest for Divine Sustenance

In the quiet morning, when dawn breaks the night’s hold,Β
I seek you, the sustenance for my soul,Β
the nourishment for my weary heart.Β
The Bread of Life, who fills the void within,Β
quenching the hunger I often ignore,Β
satisfying the thirst I scarcely recognize.

Daily, I come to your table,Β
yet my hands tremble, hesitant,Β
my heart often distracted,Β
my mind clouded with lesser desires.Β
Help me to see the depth of my need,Β
the vastness of my emptiness without you.

Teach me to reach for you with both hands,Β
to savor each moment spent in your presence,Β
to understand that every breath I takeΒ
is a gift from you, a call to draw nearer,Β
to eat, to drink, to be filled to overflowing.

Consistently, I want to partake of your goodness,Β
to feast on your word, to be nourished by your truth.Β
Help me to abandon the fleeting, empty calories of the world,Β
and to crave the richness of your love,Β
the sweetness of your grace, the fullness of your mercy.

Make me ever hungry for more of you,Β
a hunger that cannot be satisfied by anything or anyone else,Β
a thirst that only you can quench.Β
Let my soul be restless until it rests in you,Β
until I am fully consumed by your presence,Β
sustained by your endless provision,Β
and transformed by your boundless love.

Bread of Life, sustain me as I seek you each day,Β
filling my emptiness with your abundant grace.
May my hunger for divine sustenanceΒ
never wane, but grow into a relentless pursuit of the Bread that truly satisfies,Β
the source of my being.

“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” John 6:35

Grace Amidst Trials

In the midst of the storm, when all seems lost,
And the path ahead is shrouded in frost,
There’s a light that shines, steady and true,
Guiding your steps, whispering, “I’m with you.”

When the world’s confusion clouds your mind,
And answers to your questions are hard to find,
Lift your eyes to the heavens above,
Trust in His plan, feel His unending love.

He sees the struggles you face each day,
He knows the burdens that won’t go away,
In His arms, find rest for your weary soul,
In His presence, find peace that will make you whole.

Though the season is tough, and the road is long,
In His strength, you can find the courage to be strong,
His grace is sufficient, His power made known,
In your weakness, His strength is shown.

So hold on to hope, let faith be your guide,
Rest in His promises, and your fears will subside,
For in the midst of confusion, His voice will ring clear,
“My child, trust in Me, I am always near.”

Guide me, Lord

In the quiet of the night, I seek your face,
In your presence, I find my resting place.
With each breath, I feel your love anew,
In every moment, Lord, I long for you.

Through trials and triumphs, you are always near,
Your voice whispers peace, dispels every fear.
In the chaos of life, you are my steady guide,
In your word, in your truth, I will abide.

I lift my hands in worship, my heart sings,
To the King of kings, the Lord of lords, my everything.
In your grace, I find my strength, my song,
In your presence, I find where I belong.

Lord, guide me, lead me, every step of the way,
In your light, in your love, I’ll always stay.
In the dance of life, in the ebb and flow,
In your arms, Lord, my soul finds its glow.

Grace to Trust God More

Trusting God is not always easy, especially when we face uncertainty and challenges. In those moments, we long for more grace to trust Him more fully. The hymn “Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus” expresses this longing well.

Trusting God means surrendering our fears and anxieties to Him, believing that He is in control. Even when we don’t understand His ways, we can find peace in knowing that He is faithful.

The Bible is filled with promises that reassures us of God’s faithfulness and the sufficiency of His grace. Psalm 9:10 says, “Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.” And in Isaiah 41:10, we are encouraged, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

As we face life’s challenges, let’s pray for the grace to trust God more. Let’s lean on Him, finding peace and rest in His unfailing love.

Soul Provider

In the depths of my soul, where silence meets the fray,
There’s a gentle voice that whispers, guiding me each day.
In the chaos of life’s storm, when I’m lost and feeling low,
It’s my soul provider, Jesus, who helps me to grow.

He’s the light in my darkness, the strength in my strife,
My rock and my refuge, the source of my life.
When I’m weary and burdened, He gives me rest,
Filling my soul with peace, and calming my unrest.

He’s the one who provides, in abundance and grace,
Every need that I have, He’ll faithfully embrace.
He’s my healer, my comforter, my friend and my guide,
In Him, my soul finds rest, and in Him, I abide.

So I’ll trust in my soul provider, and lean on His love,
Knowing that He watches over me from heaven above.
In every season of life, in joy and in pain,
He’s my constant companion, my life He sustains.

Life is for Living

Life is for living, a gift from above,
A journey of faith, guided by love.
In the hands of our Maker, our path is laid,
His grace and mercy, our debt He paid.

Each breath we take, a blessing so true,
A reminder of His presence, in all that we do.
In the light of His word, we find our way,
His truth and wisdom, our guide each day.

Life is for living, to glorify His name,
To walk in His footsteps, free from shame.
In every trial and triumph, He is there,
To lift us up, in His tender care.

So let us live boldly, with hearts full of praise,
In His holy presence, for all of our days.
For life is a gift, a chance to grow,
In His love and grace, we are made whole.
