Today’s Prayer # 100

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you today, in humility, thanking you for the gift of life and the many blessings you have bestowed upon me. Father my heart is so overwhelmed and I am feeling weak. There are so many emotions trying to overpower me, I cannot even find the right words to explain or describe them. But you the all-knowing Father knoweth all things. You know the intentions of my heart.

Father, I humbly come to you, casting all my anxieties upon you. The simple truth is that I am not able to carry all these burdens on my own. I don’t have the strength or the wisdom to successfully navigate these challenging circumstances. Lord, I am tired and weary, please help me to feel your loving and caring arms around me today. I have so many concerns and cares, and they weigh me down. I pray that you lift my weary spirit and fill me with your love and peace so that I may be restored and renewed in body and mind.

Lord, help me to trust only in you. Teach me to cast all my anxiety on you, because I know you care for me. Forgive me for not trusting you completely. Help me to see the light at the end of my tunnel. When I have doubts and fears, help me to trust only in you. Father even though I’m currently feeling anxious, I am choosing to put my trust in your word over my feelings. I am choosing to believe your promises rather than what my eyes can see.

Father, please hear the cries of those who feel overwhelmed as they try to serve you. Our world is hurting and broken. I pray for those who have lost loved ones during this pandemic, please comfort them in their grief and loss, cover them with your peace and presence, as only your Spirit can do. I know that in whatever we face, you are our peace and refuge, a very present help in times of trouble. Thank you that you remind us throughout your word, we do not face the storms alone, but you are always with us. Whispering calm. Speaking peace. Bringing rest to our souls.

I confess our need for you. I ask you to forgive us for trying to figure everything out on our own, for not trusting that you are more than able and powerful to work on our behalf. Forgive us for taking back up what we already determined to lay down at your feet. Give us the ability to trust you more, give us a heart that finds rest in your presence, give us the wisdom to seek peace and pursue it, remembering it is only in you alone peace is found. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer in Jesus name I pray amen.

The Grip of Sinful Desires

One cannot understand the grip of the sinful desires, that consume man like an insatiable fire.
Many are swayed by pride and greed,
from a deep well of longing and need, to urgent and demanding thrusts of sinful desires, steaming passion burns uncontrollably like wild fire.

As the greed filled soul seeks to acquire much wealth, at the expense of others as well their health, love, faith and commitment turning to mistrust, as man succumbs to the deadly desires of greed and lust.

In the midnight hour the desire is strong, mesmerizing the lascivious touch, feeling a little ashamed to burn so lustily is wrong, and to feel so much, taking deep breaths trying to adjust, deep down within, our feelings telling us we must.

No believer will ever be entirely free in this life from the evil desires that stem from his fallen human nature. Just when you think you have mastered that nature, watch out. 1 Corinthians 10:12 says, Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

In Galatians 5:16 the believers should walk by the Spirit and not gratify the desires of the flesh.

When a a faithful believer walks by the Spirit, the result is that they will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

The Tale of Lust

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1: 14-15

The Holy Spirit is there to strengthen us in the struggle against lust. As we ask him daily to help us apply a filter to what enters our mind and our eyes. We can overcome sinful urges, fleshly lusts and carnal desires by living and abiding in the word.

Today’s Prayer # 99

Dear Heavenly Father I thank you for the gift of life. Thank you for your loving kindness and tender mercies. I know that I am not perfect. I know sometimes I walk contrary to your will. I know sometimes my life is not a true representation of your son Jesus Christ, but I thank you for loving me unconditionally and giving me another day to make it right with you.

Lord, you know that the cries of my heart are many. You know it is so hard at times to remain focus when turbulent times are imminent. There are times when the beauty of life is overcast by the clouds of anxieties. Father some days I feel weak and my strength is failing but in those moments of feeling weak, I know that by your strength I will overcome victoriously. Help me to stand firm in your promises from your word.

May your Holy Spirt correct, direct, and lead me through the path of righteousness. May you strengthen my faith as I journey through this rough phase of my life. Lord, as I try to cope with this great loss, will you please strengthen my weak and frail body each step of the way. May my reliance on you increase each and every day. I pray for a special blessing on my family at this time. Continue to watch over us and keep us safe under your protective shield. Help us not to lose sight of the fact that you still care.

Lord I also ask that you remember those who pull the trigger that killed my love one. Wherever they are and whatever they are doing at this time, may your Holy Spirit visit them and convict them of their sins. May they fully surrender their lives to you and move forward making you their Lord and Saviour of their lives. Continue to bless my brothers and sisters in Christ. Bless my friends and even my enemies. Thanks for hearing and answering my prayer in Jesus name I pray amen.

Worldly Desires

Do not love the world or the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world — the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride in one’s possessions — is not from the Father, but is from the world. 1 John 2:15-16

So often as christian we can be easily drawn away by the worldly desires. There is the temptation of either greed, pride and lust. But we must not feed these desires, if we starve them they will die. Let us anchor ourselves in God and he will help us to overcome these wordly desires.

Untitled

Frozen in pain,
I wonder, will I see you again?
Sadness lingers all over my head,
Reality hits, life is as fragile as cobwebs,
You were here this minute, next minute you are dead.
Your lifeless body laying in the street, and the gunmen fled.
The news of your death hit me like a brick,
Just to think that you were not even sick.
While I am still struggling to believe,
Am also wondering what will those murders achieve.
Death the greatest thief, has stolen our joy,
Its pain stings deeply, many lives destroyed.
Lives fading away like a passing shadow,
Live for today, there’s uncertainty about tomorrow.

Today’s Prayer # 98

Dear Heavenly Father, I am grateful for your mercies that are new this morning. I am grateful for your grace that is sufficient to keep us.

Lord, I ask for your guidance today as I set out for better opportunities than yesterday. I pray that you influence all the decisions I will make today. Help me not to stray from the path. I ask that my personal agenda and ambition be set aside and your will be done. May I display the image of Christ in all that I do.

Lord, as I go throughout the day may all that I experience lead me closer to you. Help me never to judge others but to accept others as they are. Awaken in me a renewed commitment to trust and obey you at all cost. Help me each day to be a true and faithful witness and grow closer to your son Jesus Christ.

Father you are aware of the struggles that we will face today, and even the challenges we will be faced with tomorrow. Be with us as we go through of each them. As we face this new month, help us to remember that you are with us. When the days seem hard and the weight of the world seems too weigh heavy to bear, when physically we feel weak and overwhelmed, help us to cast our cares on you, rely on your promises and cling to the truths found in your word. Help us to remember to trust you wholeheartedly. In Jesus name I pray amen.
