The Grip of Sinful Desires

One cannot understand the grip of the sinful desires, that consume man like an insatiable fire.
Many are swayed by pride and greed,
from a deep well of longing and need, to urgent and demanding thrusts of sinful desires, steaming passion burns uncontrollably like wild fire.

As the greed filled soul seeks to acquire much wealth, at the expense of others as well their health, love, faith and commitment turning to mistrust, as man succumbs to the deadly desires of greed and lust.

In the midnight hour the desire is strong, mesmerizing the lascivious touch, feeling a little ashamed to burn so lustily is wrong, and to feel so much, taking deep breaths trying to adjust, deep down within, our feelings telling us we must.

No believer will ever be entirely free in this life from the evil desires that stem from his fallen human nature. Just when you think you have mastered that nature, watch out. 1 Corinthians 10:12 says, Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

In Galatians 5:16 the believers should walk by the Spirit and not gratify the desires of the flesh.

When a a faithful believer walks by the Spirit, the result is that they will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

As always thank you for reading. I am truly grateful that you stopped by. Feel free to like, share, leave your thought or reblog. Until we meet again in this space…much love and blessings.♥♥♥

This is powerful poetry! When I’m feeling overwhelmed by the negative side of our humanity, I remember that God is with me. Knowing that I’m loved and supported by our loving and ever-merciful creator in spite of my imperfections inspires my efforts to overpower them. Thanks so much for this!
