I woke up this morning with this sing in my spirit as the Lord reminded me that He holds me through the storms of life. This is not the first time I’ve awoken to this beautiful hymn resonating in my spirit. It’s apparent that the Holy Spirit gently but encouragingly reminds us who the Anchor of our lives is.
Will Your Anchor Hold
Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift or firm remain?
We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Steadfast and sure while the billows roll;
Fastened to the rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Saviour’s love!
Will your anchor hold in the straights of fear
When the breakers roar and the reef is near?
While the surges rage, and the wild winds blow,
Shall the angry waves then your back o’erflow?
Will your anchor hold in the floods of death,
When the waters cold chill your latest breath?
On the rising tide you can never fail,
While your anchor holds within the veil.
Will your eyes behold through the morning light,
The city of gold and the harbour bright?
Will your anchor safe by the heavenly shore,
When my storms are passed for evermore?
This hymn is so powerful! It reminds us to constantly ensure that we are grounded in Christ Jesus so that we can withstand any storm. This warms my heart and strengthens my faith. I am grateful that the Lord Jesus Christ is my strong deliverer, my anchor and he hears and answers my prayers. What comfort and assurance in such a time of uncertainty in our world! Let us all hold fast to the Rock, that Rock is Christ.
I am grateful that Jesus is my anchor. I pray for you today that you will not be tossed by the storms of life. I pray for the lost that in this time of pestilence they too will find Him as their Anchor for their souls. Thank you Jesus. You are the anchor that holds my life.
This question comes to us all in this perilous time. Are we anchored onto the Lord so that we will not drift?
