Today is a new day and tomorrow will be a new year. Whether you have just walked through the greatest year of your life, or are incredibly glad to see this one finally over, one truth still rings clear amidst it all. You are not alone. Never. Hebrews 13:5 says, for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
As 2019 comes closer and closer to the end I cannot help but say I am grateful.
The past 11 months I have tried to maintain an attitude of GRATITUDE and today thankfulness just overflows naturally.
Today my cup runneth over with gratitude. With a heart of gratitude I will to continue reflecting on my experiences this year. It has been a year of transitions, a year of new beginnings, and for that I AM TRULY GRATEFUL.💃
With only a few hours left until we say goodbye to 2019, I want to wish everyone a safe and happy New Year celebrations and a rewarding 2020.
Lord I lift my hands to you in gratitude and praise. Through it all I have made it to the last day of 2019. What a year it has been. It has truly been a year of love, a year of change, a year of growth, a year of endurance, a year of faith, a year of loss, a year of grief and pain. Through it all I have learned to trust you and I am indeed grateful.🙏🙌✌
In times of pain, stress and hardship it might seem difficult to be grateful. But if you really think about it, we all have something to be grateful for each day.
As I continue to reflect on the Lord’s goodness to me and my family during the year 2019, my heart swells with gratitude and praise. I have so MUCH to be thankful for this year.🙌👏
Gratitude must be our consistent attitude and our praise must be more than just a phase but all too often some of us who have been greatly blessed do not bless God gratefully or gracefully. We simply fail to maintain a thankful heart and a bold expression of gratitude to God for all he has done for us. For those of you who don’t already know, my word for 2019 is GRATITUDE. It has been a full year of expressing gratitude. My gratitude list for today is as follows.
I thank you, Lord, with all my heart; I sing praise to you before the gods. I face your holy Temple, bow down, and praise your name because of your constant love and faithfulness, because you have shown that your name and your commands are supreme. Psalm 138: 1-2
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4
What will our diet look like in the new year? Not the physical diet but the spiritual food we consume to sustain our soul. Will we be as conscious about what we consume spiritually as we are about our physical diet? Will we nourish our souls with the word of God, and seek him daily in prayer for wisdom, guidance and direction?
As I reflect on the past year and consider all that took place, the ups and downs, happiness and sadness, births and deaths, joys and pains both emotionally and physically I cannot help but be thankful for God’s goodness and faithfulness. Even to this day I am not pain free, and I am struggling to hold back my tears even I write this post, but even in our darkest days we have so much to be thankful for. I am blessed, there is so much for which I am very grateful. I have been blessed with opportunities to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ in 2019. Through it all, I have learned to be grateful. As I ponder all my blessings I realized that there are many things we take for granted.
Psalm 103:1–5 Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Sometimes we are going to have pain. Sometimes we are going to hurt. I have searched for God’s hand of comfort and wisdom during those times and sometimes he seems to be far away. I am sure you can relate. So where is God when this happens? He is right there with us. Hebrews 13:5 says, for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
