It’s Wake Up Time

And that, knowing the time, that now [it is] high time to awake out of sleep: for now [is] our salvation nearer than when we believed. Romans 13:11

Have you ever been awakened from a sound sleep? Perhaps you took a nap and you were awakened suddenly. At first you are dazed. You don’t know what day it is or what time it is. You are not sure whether it is morning, afternoon, or evening. Depending on how deep you were sleeping, it might take several minutes for you to regain your bearings.

I believe this is what the scripture is saying we have to do. We must wake from our slumber and realize where we are. We are to recognize the time.

The Lord tells us to wake up. Now is not the time to sleep, it is not the time to take a spiritual vacation. It is time to wake up, it can be disastrous not to do so.

Like the church at Ephesus many of us have left our first love. Some of us were more fervent in serving the Lord than we are now. There was a time when we loved Him with all our heart, soul and mind and we were zealous about the work of God. But as the years went by, other things have crowded their way into our lives and demanded our time and affections; and we have slipped deeper and deeper into spiritual slumber.

We are in the midst of a crisis. Ephesians 5:14 declares, “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light” We need to awake from our slumber.

If each of us would honestly do a self evaluation of our spiritual condition we will see that some of us have become slothful concerning the things of God. Our spiritual life is withering away. Our heart is as hard as the ground we walk on. We are cold toward the things of God. We have lost our zeal for the things of God. We have backslidden. We are just going through the motion.

My brothers and sisters, do you know what time it is? Look at your clock, it’s daybreak, it’s time to wake up.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Romans 13:12

Wake up, put off the deeds of darkness. Delay leads to destruction. Repent of your sins today and put on the armor of light. The long night is over, the sun is peeking over the horizon, Jesus is coming soon.

As believers we live in the certainty that Jesus is coming again. We need to be ready for his return.Stay awake, let’s be focused. We are living in the last days. Jesus is returning at any hour. It could be today, tomorrow, or any moment.

And so I have to ask… Are you ready?👀

Thank you for reading. Feel free to like, leave your thought or reblog.

Much love and Blessings❤❤

Thank you Fay, beautifully written. It sure speaks of the focus, spiritual enlightenment, awareness of where we at in life. When we are in deep slumber and we have our visitation, their is no place to hide in mind or spirit. Our priorities reveal themselves. God bless you and all who read your posts.
