Hope When You Feel Broken

“But while Joseph was there in the prison, the LORD was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.” Genesis 39:20-21

The process of being squeezed and uncomfortable can break us down, making us feel helpless, alone and sometimes even good for nothing. We can question, God, where are you? Or, Let’s hurry this discomfort along, OK? Or even wonder God, I thought you loved me. What did I do wrong?

Let me remind you of something, friend. Being squeezed by outside pressure doesn’t indicate God’s rejection, abandonment or that He made a mistake. Sometimes in His great sovereignty and love, God allows for our character to be refined. God reminded me of this recently when I was studying the life of Joseph. You may remember Joseph and his coat of many colours.

As a teenager, Joseph had big dreams; however, a series of unfortunate events seemed to circumvent those aspirations. He faced difficult and disappointing times more than once and was even sold into slavery by his very own brothers. Can you imagine going from favored child to slave? I wouldn’t have had a very good attitude about that. Joseph’s plans went differently than expected, yet he ultimately chose to follow God every step of the way.

Regardless of outside pressures and demands slavery, slander, abandonment or imprisonment Joseph chose to be excellent. The Bible tells us he advanced because of his positive attitude, and he experienced God’s kindness and favor in the midst of struggles and disappointments.

In our key verse, Genesis 39:21 tells us, “The LORD was with him; He showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden.”Let’s be honest. The refining process isn’t easy or comfortable. Prison was a dark place, a place where Joseph really didn’t want to be … a place where he saw no way out. But throughout Joseph’s story, God reminds us, very diligently, that no matter how awful and appalling the circumstances, He was still with Joseph.

Want to hear some good news? He’s still with us, too. So, friend, if you feel squeezed and broken down, please remember, our God has great purpose in His refining process. He uses whatever He can to form the character He desires for us, His dearly loved children. God adds the fruit of the Spirit to our lives, then encases us in the shell of holiness, purity and sound character, we too will have a longer shelf life … a life that glorifies Him.

Dear Lord, sometimes my days are hard and I feel squeezed in every way. Thank you for the reminder that you will never leave my side, even when it’s uncomfortable. Please help me to experience your kindness today in a fresh new way.

Missing You Dad

Cherish your loved ones. You never know when God will call them home. Losing a loved one is never easy. But by the grace of God, things do get easier.

The pain will never go away completely, and you will always miss them, but you can dwell on the happy memories you have made with them over the years, along with knowing the joy and the promise that God gives us through His beautiful resurrection and life. You can have full confidence that you will see your loved ones again.

Because of you I cried😭 today,
Wondering why you had to go away.
So many things I didn’t get to say,
My wish is to see you just one more day.

Indescribable Love

Have you ever been in love? If you are or have been, then you know the feeling.

Love is the most amazing thing in the world. They say it’s love at first sight but I really think it’s more like attraction at first sight. Attraction is what makes you want to get to know somebody. But it’s the more you get to know the person, that you begin to love them even more. That’s how our love for God deepens, because as our relationship with Him grows, we come to know so much more about who He is.

In a world of fleeting promises and people who cannot help but have the capability of letting us down, it is overwhelming to know that I have a God that I can love and trust because He cannot fail. He will not change because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever Hebrews 13:8.

Hope In God

Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:5.

At times as a result of burdensome challenges and trials, a feeling of helplessness, hopelessness and despair may set in upon the child of God. This is common among believers even those of old.

Life Is Short – Do It Today

For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away. 1 Peter 1:24

Do the people you love know you love them? Have the people in your world heard the good news? Do they know there’s a Heavenly Father who loves them unconditionally?

Some flights take off and arrive to their final destination quicker than others. While for others it’s as if they are just getting started and they are no longer here.

The saying, “Life is short is really true”.

Life is short. So short in fact that we can be here one moment, and gone the next. I know I have been there, I have experienced it first hand. Life is sometimes unexpectedly short, but it is also a gift, we need to use it wisely. We do not know what tomorrow holds, we cannot bank on tomorrow.

Has someone made a difference in your life? Has someone been an influence in your life? Give them a call or send them a message! Don’t let another day go by without letting that person know. Do it today.

Life is too short to leave good deeds and gestures undone and kind words unsaid. The things you do and the words you say, might just make all the difference in the world today. Sometimes it’s the small things that we often overlook that are important in life. These things really rekindle our love for one another.

Do It Today
Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
The young or old alike,
Today may be the last chance,
You get to hold your loved ones tight.

So hold your loved ones close today,
And whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them,
And that you will always hold them dear.

Life is absolutely uncertain. We have no clue what tomorrow may bring. We ONLY get TODAY. Love someone today. Love your enemies. Forgive someone today. Be the light somewhere today. Do it today.

Do have a wonderful and calm Friday. Much love and Blessings❤❤
