Love Is Patient

I have found myself in a number of situations during the past week in which the words have flashed silently across my mind: “Love is patient.”

According to the apostle Paul, one of the characteristics of a genuine Christian’s life is patience. Galatians 5:22 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience.”

Work and Rest

The passage that comes to mind when I think of neglecting to rest is Luke 10:38-42 about Jesus going to Martha’s home. Martha was worried about all the tasks that needed to be completed, while Mary was focused on Jesus. Jesus told Martha that she was anxious and troubled about many things, but the only thing that was needed was to be in His presence. I believe our culture resembles Martha when we need to resemble more of Mary. We need to slow down and find Jesus, and take the time to rest.

When It Seems Darkest

Although I feel almost crippled by my daily challenges and the looming future, I am strengthened by the truth that God allowed the Israelites to hunger in order to provide for them in ways that only he could. Consequently when we are humbled and completely dependent on the Lord in the wilderness, he teaches us to remember, even in times of comfort and abundance, that it is due to God’s faithfulness and power, not our own strength or wisdom.

Jesus Is Coming Any Moment

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 2 Peter 3:10

The Bible says Christ will come like a thief in the night, when you least expect him. It will happen in the twinkling of an eye, with the sound of a trumpet. We must be ready at all times.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

Jesus is coming soon, maybe not soon like you think, but sooner than you expect.

When you least expect it. He is coming like a thief. No one expects a thief. Thieves come without warning. Thieves come when others feel most secure.

Matthew 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Be on your guard. He is coming ANY moment, as soon as possible, within God’s timetable.

We should start our day with a remembrance that Christ could come today!

Live with an expectation of the arrival of Christ every single moment of every single day.
Be prepared for his coming, with all the spiritual tools and ingredients you need within easy reach, and your garment tucked up into your belt so you are ready to work. Then look out the window and see who Jesus sees. Be prepared.

Marks of Pure Worship

There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor. When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her. Matthew 26:7‭-‬13

A Time To Reflect And Be Thankful

downloadfile-1.pngLife has been remarkable with lots of precious moments, life lessons, challenges and extraordinary blessings. I will never take any of it for granted and will remain eternally grateful for all things as I journey through life.

GRATEFUL FOR GETTING OLDER

I woke up this morning and thought, today is my birthday. All I felt was an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I had my shower and sat down to write in awe that I’m still here to do those things.

I know that so many people, even young people, never get to see their next birthday and because of that, I am choosing to not only acknowledge the day, but celebrate the priceless gift of life which is incomparable.

My mom had this joyous blessing, and on the 3rd of April it was the due date to let the world experience her greatness.
