My Life Being Transformed

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20).

My life is going through a major transformation in almost every way. My hunger for God has intensified over the past two months. Whenever I read the scripture the words jumped off the page into my heart. Feasting on God’s word is like dipping into a well of living water and I am so thirsty for more.

Abiding Peace

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14: 27

Regardless of who we are or how much we love God, the storms of life do come. We sometimes endure struggles that seem completely overwhelming, and we wonder if God has forgotten all about us.

My Affliction Is Temporary

Psalm 34:15- “The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry.”

Sometimes, my mind tells me that God doesn’t remember me. He doesn’t see the struggles in my life or more specifically, the inward battles of my soul.

But that is not how God operates according to the Bible. God is intimately acquainted with the details of our lives and is personally invested in the well-being of our souls. The God of the Bible is the God who sees all, including me.

When we feel that God is far away, He is probably closer to us than normal and the Scriptures affirm this in many places that He is near the sad, the brokenhearted, and all who feel hopeless. The psalmist says the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears hear their cries.

I want you to know that Jesus Christ is hope. Hebrews 6:19 speaks of hope when it says, “Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and steadfast….” Let the storms rage, the waves buffet us, and the wind blow for my anchor holds firm in Jesus Christ.

If you don’t have hope you don’t have anything. Faith believes, but hope expects. A person who lives by confidence in God alone and looks to God alone has Christian character.

One of the greatest marks of your faith and your confidence in the Almighty is your endurance, your perseverance and your constancy when trouble comes.

We always have hope in the midst of the darkest storms because Christ lives to intercede for us. He commands his angels to guard our path and guide our steps. We are not left to fend for ourselves when darkness comes. With Christ, we have all the hope and peace needed to get through the pain as God works through it to reveal more of himself to us.

No battle is too big for him because he has authority over everything. The outcome is always in his hands and his will.

Whatever pain or affliction you are enduring, don’t give up and don’t lose hope!  God is not detached or unconcerned for your welfare. He just has a different plan for you than you think that He should have for your life.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. Isaiah 43:2
